Signs You Have Mold in Your Home or Office

Having mold in your home or office can not only affect your health but also any other individual that may breathe it in. Mold can cause a variety of health issues when an individual is exposed to it. Therefore, it is important to do what you can to prevent mold from forming. Take a moment to check out one of our past blogs to learn how you can do just that.

Even if you try to prevent it, mold may still find a way to form in your office or home. Sometimes mold can grow and you may not even know it’s there.

First, let’s find out some ways you can tell if mold might be growing.

  • Smell – Mold has a distinct smell. If you can smell it in your office or home, chances are there might be mold forming.
  • Health Symptoms – Are you or is someone else starting to have any of the following symptoms when at your home or office?
    • Sore Eyes
    • Itchy Skin
    • Runny Nose
    • Sneezing
    • Coughing
    • Sore Throat

If so, then there is a chance it may be coming from mold. It is easy for people to assume they have a cold when experiencing these symptoms. However, if they decrease when not in your office or home, or if more than one individual is suffering from them, these are signs there may be hidden mold.

  • Leaks – If you happen to have any type of leak, whether it was from a pipe or a leaky roof, it is a good idea to just check to make sure there is no mold forming once everything is cleaned up.

Sometimes people don’t realize they are actually seeing mold. There is a chance mold could be forming on the grout in bathrooms or coming through paint/wallpaper. If you see anything that could be a form of mold or if you smell it or have experienced the above health issues, it is important to have your home or office tested for mold.  Here at Karl Environmental we have the experience needed when it comes to testing and removing mold.
