EPA Lead Renovator (RRP) 4-hour Refresher Class

Renew your EPA Lead-Safe certification by completing the 4-hour EPA Lead Renovator Refresher Training Class for Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP). Most contractors disturbing more than 6-square feet of lead-based paint in child occupied facilities and housing are required to complete this training.

All contractors who perform renovations, repairs, or painting in pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities must be EPA Lead Safe Certified. Individuals and firms that are not certified could face fines of up to $43,611 per day. Affected individuals include but are not limited to renovators, remodelers, plumbers, painters, electricians, window & door contractors, landlords and some building engineers.

The Lead Renovator Certification course includes both EPA and HUD approved lead safety training and certification. Any contractor performing work on pre-1978 homes or child-occupied facilities must employ at least one Certified Renovator who has successfully completed this training. Companies must also be registered as a Lead Safe Certified Firm with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) upon completion of this course.
