Do You Suspect Mold Growth In Your Home? You May Need Mold Sampling!

Do you suspect mold growing under your roof? With a careful mold investigation, our team of inspectors can identify a mold growth problem. They can also conduct mold sampling to learn more about the issue, such as what type of mold you’re dealing with and how much. Keep reading to find out about the sampling process.

Collecting the Mold

Mold sampling works with two tools: an indoor air pump to attract samples, along with a special filter that will trap the mold spores. Once the mold spores are trapped, they’re sent to an accredited laboratory where further testing will provide more detailed results. Another way to collect mold spores is with a swab or slide. Swabs are used to collect mold spores that may be found on surface areas within visual inspection, rather than through the air.

Finding the Mold

If you’re not sure where the mold is coming from, our team can take advantage of moisture meters or thermal-imaging cameras to detect high moisture levels. In most cases, high moisture indicates a greater probability of where mold can be found. This means that locations, such as under the sink, in the bathroom, or around windows, have a higher likelihood of mold growth. However, mold can appear anywhere that moisture is present. Any room in the house is fair game for mold growth within the right conditions.

Identifying the Mold

After identifying the source of mold, our team can help remediate the problem and let you know what you need to fix so you can prevent the issue from recurring. Despite our help, what happens if you find mold on your own? For smaller situations, such as mold around the caulking in a bathtub, you can resolve it with daily cleaning. Unfortunately, some issues can grow out of hand very quickly. For larger areas, be sure to contact us as soon as possible! Trying to handle large amounts can result in respiratory and skin contact. Common symptoms from mold exposure include coughing, dry skin, an itchy face, and more!
