When thinking about workplace injuries, what equipment do you think results in the most? With many different industries, there are various tools used within company operations. Although, forklifts are one of the most deadly. That’s why it’s important for all employees to be well trained and aware of their surroundings when operating one. We’ll cover forklift training and what our team offers in relation to training or certification.

As of 2023, it’s estimated that over 10% of workplace injuries are due to forklifts. That number might sound small, but out of all injuries that occur, that’s a big percentage. With further awareness, we can help minimize the number as time goes on.

Forklift training tackles multiple angles to help give employees the best learning experience. When looking at what our training services offer, there are three main components to highlight. The first component is class-based, focusing on preemptive reviews of the manual, testing of the lift, and inspections of personal protective equipment (PPE). The second component is hands-on, allowing employees the chance to demonstrate their operation capabilities with different types of lifts. Lastly, there is a full evaluation of operating ability for each type of lift. Our training includes forklifts, scissor lifts, aerial boom lifts, and telehandlers.

Many of these lifts will require the operator to be efficient at high reaches as well. The higher you need to go, the more difficult it can become to effectively operate the machine. A few tips can help operators perform successfully while avoiding injuries or damage. This includes:

  • Ensuring a full and clear view of the lift and any products on-hand.
  • Minimizing distractions from the surroundings.
  • Utilizing forklift gauges to prevent disaster before it strikes.

A forklift may be heavy machinery, but quality training and time can allow any employee to successfully use one. If you want to help your team excel, visit our forklift training page to learn more. Similarly, you can get in touch with us by phone or email through our contact page.
